My name is Kara Werner and I am an LPC/MHSP in TN. I am eclectic in my approach to therapy. I practice being client-centered and meet clients where they are. I believe the therapeutic relationship is the foundation and ultimate predictor of how effective therapy will be. I will work diligently to build rapport with my clients. I can work with you on a variety of concerns including anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, and grief. I’m comfortable working with ages 16 and up. I will meet with and provide couples and family therapy if that need should arise. As a counselor, I don’t pretend to have everything together, but I will walk alongside you during your time of need to support, cheer you on, challenge you, comfort you, and listen to you. 

Approaches to therapy I use include EMDR therapy (EMDR Certified), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Narrative Therapy. I consider myself skilled in helping clients identify where they need to have better boundaries and struggle-predicting around implementation of those necessary boundaries.
